The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS)

Dr. Yamahata is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and recertification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS®)

Dr. Yamahata is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The ASPS® was established over 75 years ago and is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. ASPS Member Surgeons have more than six years of surgical training and experience, with at least three years specifically in plastic surgery.

The Aesthetic Society

Dr. Yamahata is a member of The Aesthetic Society (formerly ASAPS®), an organization of board-certified plastic surgeons specializing in cosmetic plastic surgery. With over 2,500 members in the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world, The Aesthetic Society is dedicated to advancing the science, art, and safe practice of aesthetic plastic surgery.

American College of Surgeons (ACS)

Dr. Yamahata is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice.

American Medical Association

Dr. Yamahata is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA). The AMA helps doctors help patients by uniting physicians nationwide to work on the most important professional and public health issues. Its members, delegates, trustees, council members, section members, medical societies and countless other physicians, medical students, and staff all play an integral role in the success of the organization.

California Medical Association

Dr. Yamahata is a member of the California Medical Association (CMA). The CMA has more than 35,000 members in all modes of practice and specialties representing the patients of California. Established in 1856 as the Medical Society of the State of California, the CMA continues to advocate for healthcare improvements.

California Society of Plastic Surgeons

Dr. Yamahata is a member of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, an organization of practicing, board-certified plastic surgeons committed to the highest ethical standards. This society is dedicated to advancing the profession of plastic surgery through continuing education, educating the public, and acting as patient advocates who protect the welfare of the people of California with respect to cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
